Obsidian Moon was a project I created in 2020 to honor my aunt who passed away in 2019. I had the idea to create something special in her memory but after a year I knew what it should be. My Aunt Kerry was very spiritual, whether it was her personality or style. She also adored fictional worlds like Harry Potter or the Elder Scrolls series.

The style of Obsidian Moon represented these traits and was inspired by the kind of fantasy and magic in these worlds. There are three different designs in this project, the Deer, the Mountains, and the Floating Island. The style was influenced by tarot cards that Kerry loved.

During 2020 after the project was finished I turned Obsidian Moon into stickers and then later combined them together into an 11x17 poster print. A year later in 2021 I printed my first shirt and used the Deer design of Obsidian Moon. Having all of these products felt like she was still here, a part of this world.
